Are you serious?
The stretch of grass you walk through after showing your media pass is like a putting green.
So I hadn't even made my way to the course and was blown away by a 10-yard stretch of grass that felt like I was walking on a putting green.
I'm going to try and get out and follow Ryan Palmer's practice round in the afternoon and then start our hopeful daily diary with our Amarillo native.
So for now, let me take you quickly inside "the media" portion of the Masters.
The Globe-News will be at what the Masters people call "The Interview." Yeah, that interview with some guy named Tiger Woods. Those lucky enough to receive the ticket it simply says: Interview - Monday, April 5. I'm no 235.
Should be interesting.
Press from all over the world sit in huge room of 10 rows looking like a mini stadium. I'm sitting next to an Italian reporter named Massimo Lopes Pegna. He writes for the La Gezetta dello Sport.
Now, those are great names for a reporter and paper.
No cell phones are allowed on the course, only in this room.
No cameras are allowed on the course from Thursday through Sunday. But I will be out over the next two days posting photos at amarillo.com.
So look for those.
For now, pinch me.
I'm at The Masters!
Ask Tiger what he ate for breakfest!
ReplyDeleteLancer, I loved your question about Tiger's nerves and what the reaction from his peers has and will be this week. It made Tiger pause, take stock and think about it. Way to go! Although you were not on camera during your question during "The Inerview" I can recognize your voice in a crowd of 1000's of sports reporters.
